About Me
I am a writer and producer with a passion for art, cultural heritage, and sustainability.
A bit about me…
I’ll admit, machines can write pretty well these days. So, why work with someone who still identifies as a writer first and foremost? I don’t have a definitive answer to that question, but I do know that I still believe in the power and poetry of the human imagination to communicate in ways that are unique, meaningful, and unexpected.
As a writer, producer, and independent researcher, I’ve developed a wealth of insight and experience in fields I’m passionate about while working with organisations including the Wikimedia Foundation, Sotheby’s, Intelligence Squared, and UNHCR (the UN Refugee Agency). The running thread throughout my career has been a determination to work with brands, organisations, and communities that genuinely align with my tastes and interests.
In terms of taste, that means I’m drawn to organisations that care about people and creativity, that prefer clarity over jargon, and that know when to take things seriously and when to relax a little. In terms of interests, the list is always growing, so it is probably easier to share a few things I’ve loved working on:
Curating this conversation on feminist art in the modern city for Sotheby’s, combining my passion for art, literature, and urban studies in a live event surrounded by iconic work from modern and contemporary female artists.
Leading the rebrand and website redesign of the UK’s Museums Association to strengthen their identity as a vital voice in the conversation on what a twenty-first century museum should be.
Developing branded content to showcase Kew Gardens’ role in preserving biodiversity and driving research into the wonders of plants and fungi.
Creating and executing a content strategy for UNHCR (the UN Refugee Agency) to mark the first anniversary of the Global Refugee Forum, the world’s largest international gathering dedicated to protecting the rights of refugees and displaced people.
As you can see, my experience extends beyond simply putting words on a page, but I bring my skills as a storyteller to every project I work on. Outside of my work with brands and organisations, I am committed to writing about the things that spark my curiosity—usually something related to art, history or both—and my work has appeared in outlets such as National Geographic, British Vogue, Quartz and Apollo.
Overall, I’m interested in stories from the past or the present that help us reimagine what the world could look like, so that we can reshape what it does look like. If you have a project that needs someone with an eye for a good story, strong strategic and research skills, and a commitment to imagining a better reality, I’d love to hear from you.
